A few days ago I came across a three-hour video of Marshall Rosenberg teaching Nonviolent Communication. He calls it Giraffe Language, as distinguished from Jackal Language, the language we were all raised to speak, the language of our culture. Jackal is about thinking and diagnosing and judging. Giraffe is about feeling and noticing.
